The Unexpected Encounter

Have you ever met someone famous? I have.... It had been a long day at school.  It was time to go home and I was too tired to walk home. So I decided to go to the attendance office and get a ride home with my aunt. The hallway was virtually empty.  As I was about to pass the cafeteria, I saw a man with crutches coming down the hallway.  As he came closer I could not believe my eyes.... It was Roger Staubach!  What was he doing walking down the hall of my high school in El Paso, Texas?  In high school, I was real shy, but somehow I was able to get an autograph picture of Mr. Staubach.  I later found out that he has there to speak to the sports club.
The Dallas Cowboys were my favorite team.  I thoroughly enjoyed watching how Mr. Staubach and the rest of the team would make a come back at the very last minute.  Mr. Staubach's famous long passes usually saved the day.  They used to call it a "Hail Mary" pass.  I respected Mr. Staubach's leadership skills on and off the field.  It would have been an honor to really get to know a person like him.
Perhaps you have or have not met a famous person.  Just meeting them or reading or hearing about them does not means that you know them.  Knowing a person takes time.  It requires sharing and listening to each other.  It would have been an honor to get to know  Mr. Staubach, but it was not possible.
The same goes for the One who spoke the world into existence...God our Father. We can read, listen, or even meet Him by accepting Jesus Christ as the Messiah, but that does not mean you know Him. It takes time... It takes sharing and listening to each other.  God created us and He wants to spend time with us!  He is interested in every part of your life. Do not be afraid... You can hear His voice. Get to know Him.  He is waiting for you!

4When he has brought his own sheep outside, he walks on before them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.
5They will never [on any account] follow a stranger, but will run away from him because they do not know the voice of strangers or recognize their call.
John 10:4-5 (Amplified Bible)

Have you ever met a famous person?
